Wellbeing & Enrichment

Our school offers a range of programs designed to build confidence, creativity and positive relationships. Students develop practical skills, resilience and a strong sense of belonging through hands on and collaborative experiences.

• Kitchen Garden – students grow, harvest and prepare seasonal food while learning about sustainability, responsibility and healthy choices.
• Woodwork Program (Year 5/6) – supported by a volunteer instructor, students learn safe tool use and create projects that develop patience and pride in their work.
• Social Emotional Learning – classroom and small group sessions that support emotional regulation, respectful communication and problem solving skills.

Sport & Physical Development

Students participate in regular Physical Education and additional skill development sessions to build confidence and teamwork.

• Sport Skills Sessions – all year levels take part in additional sessions led by the PE teacher focusing on movement skills, game sense and teamwork.
• Perceptual Motor Program (Prep) – structured play activities that develop coordination, balance and spatial awareness.
• Swimming Program – builds water safety and swimming ability.
• Bike Education – teaches safe riding skills and road awareness.
• Interschool Sport – senior students represent the school in local competitions.

Camps

Our camping program supports independence, teamwork and personal growth through outdoor learning experiences.

• Year 3/4 alternate between Coastal Creek Camp and Kangaroobie Camp.
• Year 5/6 alternate between Lorne Surfing Camp and Melbourne City Camp.

Community & Performing Arts

Students have opportunities to connect with the wider community and showcase their talents.

• Victorian State Schools Spectacular – selected students rehearse and perform in a large scale performing arts production.
• Colac Kana Festival – students participate in the community parade, celebrating creativity and school pride.
• Annual School Concert – all students take part in a whole school performance showcasing music, dance and drama. The concert builds confidence, teamwork and creativity while bringing families together to celebrate student learning.

These experiences extend learning beyond the classroom while building confidence, independence and community connection.
